Who lives in the mushroom month?

Tukoni: Forest Keepers populates its hand-drawn woods with roughly twenty inhabitants, a visiting spirit called the Traveller, and beloved ritual partners such as Tea Tukoni. Dream Operator builds the cast in conversation with Ukrainian artist Oksana Bula’s Tukoni picture-book world, so characters feel like storybook neighbours rather than DPS roles. There is no combat roster and no fail-state villain gauge—only people (and spirits) to understand through gestures and pictograms.

This Characters Hub links every character page on the wiki and explains how to read the cast without spoiling every demo beat. Practical systems stay in the Guides Hub; launch timing stays in the Updates Hub.

  • The Traveller — you, the forest spirit arriving to help winter prep.
  • Tea Tukoni — brewing partner, cup rituals, elevator-cup play.
  • Forest Keepers — the wider community of roughly twenty inhabitants and how they teach puzzles.

Read them in that order if you are new: identity first, ritual partner second, community third.

How characters communicate

Storytelling is largely wordless. Keepers point, pose, and rely on pictograms while the interface offers twenty-eight languages for menus. Meeting someone means learning their gesture dialect. The moss-covered Notebook stores the pictorial clues those meetings produce. When a keeper’s need is lunch, light, packing, or tea, the solution is social more than mechanical—see How to Play and Puzzle Tips.

Demo cast moments in Sycamore

The free ~30-minute Sycamore demo introduces character verbs through achievements: Mushroom Time with sky-clock rhythm, Backpacker with packing helpers, Bright Dreams with a small keeper’s glow, Lunch Time with delivery recipients, Fear of Heights with Tea Tukoni’s elevator cup, The Sun Tea with herbal collaboration, and The Journey Awaits as a communal farewell. Use the Demo Walkthrough when you want those moments routed, and keep character pages open when you want motivation instead of steps.

Full cast after August 17, 2026

The full PC release on Steam, GOG, and Epic expands the forest to four hand-drawn locations and more time with the keepers who prepare for winter. Expect the same kindness fantasy at larger scale. We will avoid inventing names the game has not emphasized; instead we describe roles—packers, dreamers, tea partners, lunch hosts—so this hub stays accurate as Dream Operator and publisher Gamersky Games share more closer to launch.

Characters and systems that intertwine

Tea identity links tightly to Tea Brewing. Place identity links to Forest Locations. If you are installing for the first time, start with Getting Started. Wishlist and storefronts sit on Official Stores.

How to use this hub while playing

  1. Meet a striking NPC.
  2. Open the matching character page for context.
  3. Return to the forest and watch their gestures again.
  4. Log Notebook pictograms.
  5. Only then open a walkthrough if still stuck.

That loop protects the wordless charm while still giving you a wiki safety net.
